Bathgate Steelyard Challenge is a brass band contest with a difference, co-hosted by the East of Scotland Brass Band Association and Bathgate Together, a collective of Bathgate community groups.
This is an open contest, located outdoors, which will contain 2 distinct element. Firstly bands will march down George Street, performing a piece of music suitable for marching to, followed by an 8-minute own-choice entertainment programme, sat down in an arena in Bathgate Steelyard.
The contest will feature bands of all sections competing against each other, with prizes for overall 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place* , and a best lower section band (2nd, 3rd, 4th, or Youth) not in the overall prize list.
